Eriksen Terms Agreed? Christian Eriksen decision on Man Utd transfer

Manchester United have made an offer to sign Christian Eriksen, The Athletic understands.

Eriksen, 30, is available to sign on a free transfer as his Brentford contract expires on June 30.

The Denmark international signed a short-term deal with Thomas Frank’s side in January and made an immediate impression, helping the club to secure an impressive 13th-place finish.

Brentford won seven out of the 11 matches in which Eriksen featured, meaning they secured safety a couple of weeks before the season ended.

Brentford have been very interested in extending the midfielder’s stay in west London, but last month Eriksen said he was considering multiple options from numerous different clubs.

Eriksen, speaking to Viaplay, said: “I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision.

“I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me.”

Eriksen trained with Ajax’s reserves before joining Brentford in January in order to get back up to speed following his cardiac arrest at the delayed Euro 2020. He played for Ajax between 2010 and 2013.

Manchester United could only manage a sixth-place finish under Ralf Rangnick last season, but could offer Eriksen a route back into Europe in the UEFA Europa League.

Former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has taken over the reins at Old Trafford after joining the club on an initial three-year deal.

Barcelona player Frenkie de Jong is believed to be the club’s top midfield priority, with United aware of the Spanish side’s financial difficulties.

But it is understood talks between United and Barcelona have some way to run and the Premier League club have other options.

  1. Don't listen to this mug Terry, he chatting pure shit. UTD are not in a position to have a low budget bcoz were playing catch up😕 and wat he's saying about understanding is aload of dog shit. The owners fucked up and the managers they implored to run the club.

We now got to a point where most of are players are not worthy of wearing a utd shirt. So this means that we have to spend way more then what we have as a budget 120million. This will never be enough and nothing will change. Facts!! Watch and see

  2. Ericson is definitely not coming to man utd he is staying in London with either Brentford or Tottenham his family are settled there and have recently enlisted there son in a school there.

  3. Football terrace is the shittiest source when it comes to transfer, seriously. None of this come out to be true. This just ruins the channel, when it comes to fan forum and all, this channel is perfect. Please don't do transfer thing TERRY.

  4. It's funny when Terry tries to make the argument that 'Utd are working within a 120 mill budget' as an actual positive you know deep down he's actually shitting it. 120 million is not a commitment from owners to new manager that they are fully behind him and backing him in fact it's a sign that they really just want ten haag to work with what he has with a couple of additions. Terry can spin it whatever way he wants to make it seem that Utd are getting up and running. It has shades of Newcastles former owner and that should be deeply worrying for utd fans. Commitment is 2 signings through the door before city and Liverpool then three more before July at least, and they should definitely be ahead of Spurs and Arsenal transfer wise and thats not happening. For someone as vocal on Glazers out as Terry is, i'm quite stunned that he seems unmoved either way in the utd transfer discussion. Ten Haag is an excellent coach but he isn't a magician, he needs to work with quality otherwise it's attempting to polish shit.

  5. I don't think he would play much anyways, let him go the London, where his family wants to be. I think we should focus on younger better players first !

  6. How do you know he hasn’t been offered something by Tottenham ?

Your guessing based on people that are also guessing and spinning.

  7. Utd are in worse than the mud?We can't get a transfer over the line.Every target mentioned seems to either go elsewhere or snub like timber!

  8. 120m budget? That should be at least 150m or more! This is the same old Glazer crap! And why can't other deals get done first, especial those with release clauses?

  9. We're actually moaning because there is a budget mere months after dividends were taken out yet again. Months after nothin was spent to bolster the squad for the 2nd half of the season when there was more than enough time for a player to impact the squad and help us finish stronger. ..
.. thick skin my ass. These owners are a joke and nothing will change as long as fans keep shuffling along accepting it with their "patience"

  10. ETH will be getting at most 2 players……He has said a couple of times that this team finished second, so to me that means, he's gonna work with what he's got! Our transfer budget will be around £120 000 000 ……………..£100 mill light and we all know the Glazers love wasting time in the window.

  11. There was a point in time where a caliber of player like Eriksen wouldn’t consider returning to Tottenham if United showed up, like Dimitar Berbatov. The fact that Spurs are competing and beating out United for transfers says a lot about the direction of the two clubs and the impact of Champions League football.
