What’s up EFD and welcome back to Scout Report. Having led Newcastle to an impressive 11th-place finish in 21-22, with only five other Premier League clubs accruing more than the Magpies’ 44 points in his 27 games in charge, Eddie Howe’s next challenge is to establish his side in the top half of the league, qualify for Europe, and perhaps even threaten the top six, just as West Ham have managed to do in recent campaigns.
To do that, there will need to be significant business this summer, and while Howe was able to extract big performances from his side last season, there are still areas in big need of an upgrade. Today we’re bringing you three realistic signings the club should make if they want to continue their rise next term.
Just a heads up, we’ve already spoken about Lucas Paqueta and Hugo Ekitike on 10 Transfers That Make Perfect Sense – go and check that out after this – so we’ve decided to mix things up for this one. Let’s go!

Akanji is a player I admire. I'm surprised no top team in England has inquired about him. I wish Chelsea could go for him, but Chelsea, like Man Utd, signs popular players instead of adaptability and functionality like Liverpool.
Zagadou and Grillitsch for free, not much but a good start to the transfer window, add in players like Ekitike, Luis Maximiano, hijack a deal for Palhinha and a marquee signing in Griezmann and that is a 10/10 transfer window and guaranteed European football
Bale is a wild shout but he'd be a legend at New Castle for 1 good season
Ok Hear me out though
Gareth Bale?
Akanji is injury prone and unreliable

Raum is a bad shout cos new castle just bought one.
FD should do better
Very good
Two wild shouts … Rafa Silva from Benfica who I think after a few solid seasons I think is ready for a move away from Liga NOS though he is a bit older than they would like….and Carlos Soler who would be a brilliant addition to their midfield
1i think they need a progressive dribbler too, combined with creating chances from the flanks… Raum would be a very good signing too

I would love if they could sign Noni Maduake— add some English spice to their rebuild and Lucas Paquetá — incredible season and top midfielder with all the great basic skills (also incredible friends with Bruno). Two signings who instantly take them up a notch (attacking wise anyway).
Come on the toon 7th next season i recon
Why don't they sign neres and can interchange with ASM
